Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC) President Datuk Seri G. Palanivel said it was misleading to say that the intake for Indian students into matriculation colleges has been reduced to 500.
Prime Minister Dato Seri Najib Tun Razak has already increased the intake of Indian students to 1,500.
The same intake of 1500 Indian students into matriculation colleges will continue this year and every year.
When the Prime Minister visited the Polytechnic in Teluk Kemang several months ago he announced the intake of almost 1700 Indian students into polytechnics throughout the country.
These students had only scored three credits.
This intake is a special intake exclusively for Indian students who had not done well in SPM.
So there should be no speculation stating that the intake of Indians into matriculation colleges is being reduced.
It’s a misleading information said Palanivel.
